: any of several forms of myelogenous leukemia marked by an abnormal increase in the number of immature white blood cells (as monoblasts, myeloblasts, or promyelocytes) that are not of the same lineage as B cells and T cells and occur especially in the blood and bone marrow; especially : acute myelogenous leukemia
